Eilidh Laidlaw was one of those girls. You know the ones that everyone loves to hate for some reason or another but it rarely done to their face. One of those girls with that specific air of superiority and general "I'm better than you" attitude. You could blame this on several things. Children can very well be a completely product of their environment. A child can hardly chose her parents. They can not pick what sort of family they are born into. In fact, choice does not even come into the equations until much later. Eili, as only her close friends called her, just so happened to chose to be one of those girls. At least now a days anyway. She could be very sweet after all. You simply had to be on her proper side. And it was not as if Durmstrang was crawling with goodie goodies stuck in their holier than thou morals. Not everyone was evil but if you knew anything about evil.. you knew it came in degrees.
The Laidlaws were not so much unlike any other families that attend the school. Not to say that they were on the same financial or status level. But there were among like minds. Granted some of the teachers seems completely off their rockers. But what could you complain about? It kept the classes interesting and perhaps the students learning.
It was good to be back in the cold halls of her school. Not because she loved the school so much. Oh no. There was a new addition to the halls and classes of Durmstrang that made Eili happy to return from the small break she and her twin had last week. This addition was none other than her oldest and best friend, Juliana Pucey. Naturally Eilidh was not going to complain about finally being able to go to school after years of pouting, whining and one some occasions, shrieking.
It had all paid off. Now all Eili day to do was pick which pair of shoes she wanted to wear. Proper outfits could not be rushed. It was a cardinal rule. You could not just throw something on and walk out the door. That was blasphemy! So what if she was running a little late. Jewel would understand. Honestly, somethings, like fashion, needed to be treated with respect.
Eilidh hurried down the hall. This version of hurry was more like a brisk walk. Only when absolutely needed did she ever run.
Coming around the corner in the hall she found the back of a growingly familiar head, and the face of someone she knew all to well. This unexpected party member caused Eili's face to obtain a small glower.
"Sam. Don't you have some one else to bother or force your company upon?" She gave a small sneer. Obviously Eili has told the Jewel all about this manish and horrible excuse for a witch Ewen had decided to wait his time one. Why was completely beyond her. Especially since the girl in question had such a manish name. Sam. Pbft.
